At this stage, the bride is asked to pick out an amount of money from the plate for herself, an amount that may be set by her aunt or sister. This money, called 'mari inonhongwa nemusihwara,' is intended for buying cooking or household utensils. If the bride has younger siblings, she may share some of it with them. Often the bride returns this money to her husband-to-be so that it can go towards the payments that follow.
