In English

Kuzvarira is a route in which parents give their daughter away in marriage to a man wealthier than themselves, in exchange for cattle, food, or other valuables. This route was often taken when a family was under financial hardship or facing scarcity. Giving a child to another family in this way helped the family gain support and relieved the hardship in the home. This was not done without discussion; families would usually agree upon this form of marriage before the daughter was given to the family she was to marry into.
