In English

Kukumbira is the opposite of kutizira. In this route, the man and woman are the ones who first want to come together, and once they decide to marry, both families are informed and negotiations begin, assisted by a go-between. This route allows the woman her own choice, together with her parents' consent. In this route, the groom's parents are the ones who must pay roora to the bride's family before the marriage is considered legal. Kukumbira is still widely practised today and is regarded as an acceptable way of marrying.
