Shava Vhuramayi, also written Vhuramai or Vhuramavi, is a Shona clan of the Shava totem, the eland. Its men are greeted as Mhofu, Vhuramavi, Mhofu yemukono and Zuruvi, and its women as MaVhuramai, Ashava or Chihera. Its detembo opens on Zuruvi and calls the clan VaSeke and VaVhanganyama.

The Vhuramavi detembo begins with three names in a row, Zuruvi, Vhuramavi and VaSeke Mukonde, and keeps coming back to Seke: it thanks the clan as VaSeke and later as VaHara of Seke. Duramazwi gives Zuruvi as the praise name of the Shava of Harava. The poem also calls the clan VaVhanganyama, and plays on that name in the next line, vakavhanga nyama nohwahwa, with meat and beer.
It greets the clan as those of Zengeza, Nharira, Zvipindu and Rare, and gives them the praise names Chikove, Chinerembe, Masvinga and Ziwewera. Like the Mufakose and Mutenhesanwa poems it calls them those of Sadzadete, and it closes on the clan's own name, Vhuramavi.
Those who carry a totem do not eat its animal. Some families keep away from one part of it only, such as the heart, and the old belief holds that a person who breaks the rule loses their teeth.
The praise names are for every day, not only for ceremonies: a person is greeted by them, thanked with them, and a wife praises her husband with his.

Both are used. The Mitupo collection prints the poem as Shava Vhuramavi, and Duramazwi lists Vhuramavi as the praise name of one Shava lineage, with Vhuramai as another spelling. This page uses Vhuramayi.
Duramazwi gives Zuruvi as the praise name (chidao) of the Shava of Harava. The Vhuramavi detembo opens on it, thanks the clan again as Zuruvi, and later calls them VaHara of Seke.
Men are greeted as Mhofu, Vhuramavi, Mhofu yemukono and Zuruvi, and women as MaVhuramai, Ashava or Chihera. The detembo adds VaSeke, VaVhanganyama, Chikove, Chinerembe, Masvinga and Ziwewera.
In Seke, Chitungwiza and Mhondoro-Ngezi, though families carrying it live all over Zimbabwe and beyond.
Traditionally, people of the same mutupo and chidawo do not marry: they are counted as one family. Between different Shava clans some families allow it, often after a ceremony that cuts the kinship (kucheka ukama).
