In English
The court for cases adjudicates legal matters. There were two types of courts: family/household courts and higher courts (chief or king's courts). Family courts were led by the head of the household or aunt and resolved domestic issues. Higher courts were led by the district head, chief, or king. During trials, various tokens like gwiro, badza, matatendandava, nhemamuripo were paid. These tokens represented words that could not be physically held.
